History: Founded in 1959 in Southern New Hampshire by 13 riders.
Current & Future:
DTR continues to support the NH trail systems though hosting fundraising trail rides. Our goal is to keep lands open to horses. We also support both horses and owners in need. Come join us to enjoy your local community trails.
Purpose today:
To gather like minded folks to enjoy a casual trail ride/drive at different locatons.
To support the community surrounding us by giving back
- Partnering with the NH Dept of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) to provide trail maintenance. NH State Parks are self-funded (Ref. RSA216-A:3-g).
- Providing funding to build and maintain the mounting ramp in Bear Brook State Park.
- Upgrading of Lane Rd going into Hayes field.
- Participating in the development of the Bear Brook State Park Mgt Plan to identify that all trails are and will remain multi-use.
- Working with DNCR to create the campground bypass trail.
- Hosting Fundraising rides to give back to the community. Examples of donations: Spring Hill Farm- Chester, NH, Becky's Gift, Andover, NH, and members in-need.
We ask that you join with us to be part of the solution. Together we can support the community and trails we all enjoy.
You can also find us on Facebook to follow our activities and events.
